Since 1994, Takoma Park Silver Spring Baseball and Softball (TPSS) has been a leader in providing a quality neighborhood youth baseball and softball program for EVERY girl and boy.  We are community-oriented, volunteer led, and believe that youth sports are healthy and fun social activities that enrich the lives of local children and families.  As youth age up through our league, skill level increases, teams gel, on and off-field friendships form and meaningful baseball memories are made.

TPSS is a tax-exempt, non-profit group. We have a scholarship outreach program that recruits, subsidizes and supports children of low-income families. We support girls and boys with disabilities and special needs.  No one who wants to play, baseball or softball, is ever turned away from TPSS.

 League Goals for Baseball and Softball

1.       Create a fun and successful experience for all;

2.       Teach players basic skills and rules of the game;

3.       To instill a strong sense of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and fair play;

4.       To help players do their best and improve their skills;

5.       To teach players the value of helping each other;

6.       To teach players to hustle and play the game properly;

7.       To teach players to play and practice safely; and

8.       To create a foundation so players enjoy playing the game.
